The show is based on Sophia Amoruso\’s autobiography which tells the story of how she started the company \’Nasty Gal\’ while working as a campus safety host for San Francisco\’s Academy of Art University.
The story began when a 23-year old Sophia is fired from her job at a San Francisco shoe store and behind on her rent. When browsing a consignment store, she bought a 1970\’s vintage motorcycle jacket for 9$ and sells it on eBay for $600! That gave her the idea to start her own vintage clothing business on ebay.
I was amused on how the business idea unfolds. She is young, rebellious and broke but having the attitude and mindset of getting what she want plus being the natural fashion savvy, takes her all the way to the top!
